Perfume Wishlist

  • Miss Dior Cherie
I recently read on Lauren Conrad’s site that this was her all-time favorite perfume, so of course I feel like I need¬†it even though I haven’t even smelt it, yet. ūüėČ
  • Jessica Simpson Fancy Love¬†
Michele1218 from Youtube said this was the one perfume she always gets complements on from everyone when she wears it. ¬†No, I haven’t smelt this one either but I also want it.
  • Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola¬†
I recently got a sample of this and I honestly wasn’t sure if I liked it. ¬†It has an extremely fresh scent, which I thought was too fruity/floral-y at first, but it definitely grew on me. ¬†It’s like ¬†you just stepped out of the shower. ¬†Perfect for daytime!
  • Coach Poppy
I got a sample of this a few months back and I honestly don’t even remember the key notes of the scent but I do know I loved it and it’s been on my mind since!
  • Versace Bright Crystal
I’ve also had many samples of this and I am absolutely in love with it. ¬†I’m not sure why I haven’t bought it yet, but it will be the first one I do buy!
  • Juicy Viva La Juicy¬†
I’ve had this in the past, and still love it.
  • DKNY Be Delicious
I’ve heard soo many people rave about this, but I always brushed it off because I hate extremely fruity scents because they feel like a middle school girl scent. ¬†However, when I got a sample of it I finally understood what everyone was raving about. ¬†It smells soo good, the perfect day scent, and is not overly fruity by any means.
What are your favorite perfumes?  Any I should check out? Let me know in the comments!

Frisbee Craft

I love paper plate crafts because you can do so many things with them, and they are so inexpensive because I always have paper plates on hand! ¬†These paper plate frisbees serve as a quick and easy, last minute craft if you’re looking for something to do or something to take up some time without creating a huge mess!

I took two paper plates and cut out the middle of them, or just begin the cutting, depending on the child’s age. ¬†Once the middle is cut out I placed the outer ring of the plates together, facing opposite of each other so it “poofs” out. ¬†For time, we stapled the plates together, but you could also glue. ¬†Then have the kids decorate it as they wish and have fun with your new frisbee!

Because these are only paper, they do not go as far as your typical frisbee.  Older kids, might get bored, but you can use these for other activities as well!  You can use it as a type of ring toss, hang it on a door handle, or have your kiddo use their imagination to see what they come up with!

Toilet Paper Roll Crafts

Lately, I’ve been hoarding toilet paper rolls. ¬†They’re great to re-use for cheap and easy crafts! ¬†I’ve picked out a few of my favorite and linked them below to share with you all!
I found some great seasonal toilet paper crafts such as a turkey, snowflake, a May Day craft, and more but I wanted to keep it as a year-round craft for now. ¬†I also tried to choose relatively simple crafts, since I work with kids at a young age currently (2, 4 and 6) and wanted it to be something they all could do without it being too difficult. ¬†They also loose attention so quickly, so it needs to be a fast activity! ¬†However, there are more complex crafts all around the internet that I found using toilet paper rolls and they don’t need a whole load of materials, either!
Hope you enjoy, if you know of any other great and creative crafts using toilet paper, then please share them in the comments below!

We finally got an IKEA this past week!

Unfortunately, it’s about an hour away from where we live,

¬†but fortunately it’s only like 5-10 mins from my parents house, so we’ll be there often!

Brian and I happened to be in the area on Friday night and we had a few minutes until we had to meet his family

Well, an hour and a half to be exact because that’s how long it took us to just simply walk through the area.

We didn’t really stop anywhere,

and we didn’t buy anything (much to my dismay).

However, I have decided to re-do each room in our apartment,

especially since our lease has just been renewed.

Needless to say, I am pretty stoked about the plans I have in store, and so is my house!

I am going to start with the hallway, bathroom, and laundry room.

I also need to have a garage sale to sell all of our dishware because I want new stuff!

I am also going to blog my progress so stay tuned for some really great decorating!

July Beauty Favorites

Summer is when it’s a big deal if I wear makeup 4 times in a month. ¬†It’s always hard to find favorites for the summer months because I’m all about minimalism and products that work great for on-the-go. ¬†However, I have been able to compile a group of products that I could not live without or have been using¬†consistently¬†all month long!

left to right:

  • Maui Islands Secret Browning Formula – ¬†I ¬†bought this in California a while ago and it is my favorite tanning oil/lotion. ¬†It will make me beyond bronze in only an hour. ¬†I think they put some kind of magic in it because it does amazing things. ¬†I only have a bit left, but I will so be buying some the minute that I run out!
  • Pink Nail Polish ¬†– ¬†I haven’t wanted any color besides pink on my nails, toes or fingers, all month long. ¬† Also the brighter, more vibrant, the better!
  • Deep Conditioner – Because I’m in the pool so much I’ve been using a deep conditioner constantly to replenish the moisture in my hair so it doesn’t get too try from chlorine and the sun. ¬†However, to take it one step further I mix all my deep conditioners together and I’m pretty sure the effects are a lot better than if you did it alone. ¬†Of course, that could be imagined because it’s what I want to believe..
  • Biore UV Perfect Milk SPF50+ PA+++¬†(not pictured) – I bought this specifically for our Havasu trip. To be honest I absolutely hate putting sunscreen on my face because it always feels too thick, oily, and as if it’s clogging my pores. ¬†Having extremely oily skin to begin with I hate putting sunscreen on and almost never put it on. ¬†However, I knew that would not be smart being on a boat for about 7 hours in direct sun. ¬†The consistency is extremely liquidy and white, almost like non-fat milk. ¬†However, it dreis almost instantly and in a matte finish. ¬†Your skin is left with protection from the sun, a fairly matte finish, and a feel as if nothing is on your skin to begin with. ¬†The only place I know to order it is Amazon, which is linked above, because it is only sold in Asia. ¬†Due to this, all the writing is in Chinese so I am not sure if it is water-resistant or not.
What have you been loving this month? Anything I should check out? Let me know!

Personal July Favorites

July has been a great month overall. ¬†It’s had it’s ups and downs, but we did a lot of cool things this month that made summer even more special. ¬†I am extremely upset that August is a day away because that means classes are starting up again, and eventually cold ¬†weather. Yuck. ¬†However, I want to share some of my favorite things I did and saw this month.
  • Harry Potter Deathly Hallows pt 2 –¬†I am a huge Potterhead. ¬†I’ve read all of the books and want to read them again, have seen all of the movies numerous times, and wish Hogwarts was real. ¬†Unfortunately, we were out of town on the night that Dealthy Hallows part 2 premiered otherwise we totally would have been there. ¬†However, we did go the night we got back. ¬†This and the movie beforehand have been my favorites because the follow the book so well. ¬†The one thing I don’t like in the movies is how soft Voldemort is portrayed. ¬†His voice, his actions, his persona. ¬†It’s annoying because that’s not the Voldemort we know from the book.
  • Lake Havasu – ¬†My friend owns a beach house out there so we went there for about 5 days. ¬†There were 8 of us and it obviously got crazy. ¬†We had some really good times, and a few miserable experiences as well. ¬†Overall it was a lot of fun with a lot of booze, tubing, tanning, drinking, hungover-ness, drinking, no eating, Michael Jackson, and drinking. ¬†I have some really great pics and memories, I still haven’t decided if I want to do a post talking about it or not.
The REAL London Bridge
  • Fourth of July – The kid in me loves watching fireworks and I look forward to it every year. ¬†This year we went with some friends of ours to our college stadium where they did a show and lucky for you I filmed the finale ūüėČ
  • Dog Parks – For a while Brian and I were taking the dogs to the dog park everyday but then we went on vacation and now our work schedules have been the exact oposite from one another so we haven’t been able to do it daily lately. ¬†For the most part the boys love it, Kicks can get scared sometimes because the larger dogs are so aggressive and they’re always so intrigued by Kicks. ¬†We’ve had a few close calls with dogs chasing and biting him so I’m a lot more careful and weary of other dogs when around him (especially when other owners do nothing to control their dogs, but that’s another story). ¬†The dog park we go to is the best one I’ve ever seen.. it’s a huge area of open space with trails, a ditch that’s full of water and a mini lake. ¬†The boys love going in the water.. and Kicks began to go in by himself too. I love watching them play and sometimes I wonder if I don’t have more fun than they do.

So dirty - the result was a 30min bath

  • Californication – I just talked about this in my Netflix post, but I’ve been obsessed with this show all month long and watched 3 seasons in less than 3 weeks. ¬†We finally finished season 4 and I have never been more bummed than when I found out that season 5 isn’t coming out until 2012. ¬†SPOILER ALERT: With the way they left the season finale, it could have easily been a series finale so I’m hoping they find a way to make season 5 as ¬†good as the others. ¬†If you know of any other great shows like Californication, or any other great ones in general let me know so I can watch those!

NOTD: NYC Uptown + My Attempt At DIY Ombre Nails

I also decided to try out the ombre nail effect with gold polish.  It chipped really quickly, as you will see the in the photos and looked better in real life than on camera.  Obvs I still need practice.  I also have plans to do ombre nails with a few colors so stay tuned for that!

Drugstore Haul

I haven’t bought new makeup (exclude a few nail polishes before our vacation) in a few months. ¬†While this feeling may not last, I currently feel like I have enough eye shadows, blushes, etc. to last me for 3 lifetimes and have not had the urge to buy any new items lately. ¬†However, I’ve been wanting some Wet ‘n Wild lately, especially their new Gilded Collection, so I headed over to Walmart for a few cheap thrills.
